Fall Shadow Matching Worksheets for Preschool

These fall theme shadow matching worksheets help your preschooler improve their visual discrimination skills and work on important pre-reading abilities.

Shadow matching games help your child learn how to compare shapes instead of just relying on colors in order to match objects. This is an importnat pre-reading skill that helps your child differentiate between similar letters (such as d, b, and p) and numbers.

They aren't just for pre-reading skills - shadow matching printables can help your child practice their visual discrimination skills if they need a bit of extra work.

There are six pages with various fall items, leaves, mushrooms, pumpkins etc. This set is not holiday specific - it can be used all season long! 

To make the activity easier, try covering half the colored left-hand side images to remove distractions while your little learner makes the match. You can also cut the worksheets into tiles so your child can place the images on top of one another for comparison. 

Laminate the pages or slip them into page protectors to make the activity reusable. I recommend printing on a sturdy paper like cardstock for repeated use. I personally use something called presentation paper - a heavyweight paper with a special coating for bright, beautiful images.
